Cornelius

An early Gentile convert to the Christian faith.

Background

His story told in Acts 10, Cornelius was a Roman centurion of the Italian Cohort, stationed at Caesarea on the coast of Palestine. Sympathetic to the Jewish faith and customs, he received a vision and sent for Peter, who told him about Jesus Christ and baptized him and his household.
