Proverbs 25:6-7a – “All Who Exalt Themselves Will Be Humbled”

Don't think too much of yourself; be humble.

Don't push your way to the head of the line. Compare Jesus' teaching about humility in Luke 14:7-11.

Proverbs 25:6-7a

6 Do not put yourself forward in the king’s presence
   or stand in the place of the great;
7 for it is better to be told, ‘Come up here’,
   than to be put lower in the presence of a noble.
